We are seeking a partner with an excellent academic record and at least 8 years of litigation experience. Candidates should have significant complex litigation experience such that they can successfully and independently manage litigated matters from inception to disposition. Top candidates will have an insightful personal litigation strategy and a proven track record of success, both via written papers and oral arguments. Candidates should also have prior experience with mentorship and leadership, as they will work closely with associate attorneys to develop their professional skill sets. Associate Attorneys

Summer Associates

Our summer associate program is designed as an ten-week intensive program that gives 2L students the opportunity to take on substantive work at the first-year associate level. Summer associates are staffed on a variety of cases, allowing each summer associate to work closely with many different attorneys at differing stages of the litigation process. Our summer associate program sets the standard for small firm development: our summers are invited into strategy meetings, assigned substantive briefing, provided meaningful feedback, and encouraged to prepare for and sit in on depositions. We also invite our summer associates to social events throughout the summer, allowing you to connect with fellow summers and attorneys at the firm. At the completion of the program, we consider all summer associates as candidates for full-time employment.

Paralegals

Senior Accountant

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with 3-5 years’ experience for an exciting position working directly for the Head of Finance (CFO) in a fast-growing, privately-held law firm experiencing significant growth! Based in Malibu, CA, with the flexibility to work from home up to 4 days per week or as needed, this role will focus on daily accounting tasks, financial analysis, expense analysis and management, and internal controls. Responsible for QuickBooks Online bookkeeping, expense processing, and preparation of financial reports, performance metrics and financial statements. In addition, opportunities exist for special projects related to insurance, procurement, banking, financial metrics and growth strategies. This is a unique opportunity to develop professionally, due to the company’s fast growth and the position’s direct exposure to the Head of Finance, an experienced finance executive who is involved with all facets of the business, and who reports directly to the Managing Partner and Founder of the firm.
A successful Senior Accountant must spend over 50% of work time on, and satisfactorily perform, these general categories of duties, which require significant discretion and independent judgment.1

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Daily accounting using QuickBooks Online with proper accounting classification
  • Preparation and analysis of interim and year-end financials
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of IOLTA account / Funds Received channel
  • Vendor payments, invoice processing, and management of Ramp A/P system
  • T&E/Business expense reimbursement, policy enforcement, tax compliance
  • Financial analysis, including monthly revenue reports and forecast updates
  • Internal controls projects, including:
    • Review of corporate credit card and bank charges, expense trends, and fraud prevention
    • Development and enforcement of internal controls
    • Ensure compliance with company policies related to disbursements, travel, and entertainment
  • Case costs review prior to legal settlement
  • Special projects e.g. insurance, procurement, banking, financial metrics, growth strategies

The Clarkson Fellowship Program offers a yearlong program that provides fellows the opportunity to make lasting connections with thought leaders in the legal industry. The program focuses on Clarkson’s specialization of pursuing public interest cases as essential tools of democracy, offering representation and participation to people who would not otherwise have the ability and resources to tackle high-stakes social and economic issues on their own.
Our program aims to prepare participants to successfully enter and succeed in law school and legal careers.

Program Eligibility:
  • To be eligible to participate, applicants must have at least a 3.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA achieved at a four-year institution.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in drafting pleadings, papers, and correspondence
