Senior Litigation Associate

  • 5-8 Years of Litigation Experience

We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and ambitious Senior Associate with a passion for mission-driven work, to join our dynamic legal team, focusing on sexual assault and trauma practice. The Senior Associate will be responsible for managing a caseload involving complex legal issues surrounding individual plaintiff cases, as well as those in large, coordinated proceedings such as MDLs or JCCPs. Candidates must possess excellent writing skills, and an ability to independently take depositions and argue motions. This is an opportunity to be mentored by industry thought leaders, to creatively pursue interesting cases, and to champion causes that meaningfully impact ordinary people’s lives and the world.

A successful Senior Litigation Associate must spend over 50% of work time on, and satisfactorily perform, these general categories of duties, which require significant discretion and independent judgment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating new cases; preparing and reviewing case proposals
  • Conducting legal research
  • Developing and recommending case strategy
  • Drafting motions and briefs in file-ready form
  • Overseeing filing process for motions and briefs
  • Preparing, finalizing, and serving stipulations, discovery letters, joint statements, and proposed orders
  • Corresponding with co-counsel, opposing counsel, court personnel, and clients as necessary
  • Drafting, propounding, reviewing, and responding to discovery; managing discovery disputes
  • Preparing for and taking/defending depositions
  • Attending mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings
  • Taking argument at mediation, arbitration, and court hearings
  • Attending and/or leading team and firm meetings
  • Adhering to all deadlines (internal and court mandated)
  • Administrative duties as they relate to the practice of law

Education and/or Experience:
  • 5-8 Years of Litigation Experience
  • CA Bar Admission Required
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Experience handling plaintiffs’ side sexual assault and/or related personal injury cases.
  • Focused on trauma-informed practice with meaningful client interactions.
  • Ability and desire to run your own cases independently with minor supervision.
  • Experience drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and formulating case strategies.
  • Trial experience or MDL/JCCP involvement a plus.

Partner Level Attorneys

We are seeking a partner with an excellent academic record and at least 8 years of litigation experience. Candidates should have significant complex litigation experience such that they can successfully and independently manage litigated matters from inception to disposition. Top candidates will have an insightful personal litigation strategy and a proven track record of success, both via written papers and oral arguments. Candidates should also have prior experience with mentorship and leadership, as they will work closely with associate attorneys to develop their professional skill sets. California bar admission required.

Senior Associate Attorneys

We are seeking a senior associate attorney with an excellent academic record and 5-8 years of litigation experience. Candidates should have well-developed insight into litigation strategy and a proven record of success in law and motion. Candidates must have experience taking and defending depositions and successfully arguing motions. Senior associates will manage their caseload on a day-to-day basis, working closely with both junior associates and partners to ensure efficient progression of each matter. Candidates should be independent in their practice and ready to take on a variety of complex matters in class action litigation. California bar admission required.

Associate Attorneys

  • 3-5 Years Litigation Experience

We are seeking an associate attorney with an excellent academic record and 3-5 years of litigation experience. Candidates should have extensive experience analyzing, researching, and drafting briefs addressing a variety of legal issues in complex litigation. Top candidates will have taken and defended depositions and successfully argued motions. Associates will gain valuable experience working closely with senior and partner attorneys to develop their independence as litigators. California bar admission required.

Paralegals

  • 3+ Years Experience
  • Overtime Availability Required

We are seeking an experienced paralegal with at least three years of experience and two years of e-filing experience (state and federal court). Candidates should have extensive experience preparing, finalizing, and filing legal documents, drafting correspondence, maintaining calendars, and interfacing with clients and court personnel. Candidates must have excellent organizational and time-management skills. Overtime availability required.
