Bilingual Wage & Hour Intake Specialist

  • Full-time, Remote
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • $25 – 27/hr
Can you tell, in the first ten minutes of a call, whether an unpaid overtime claim is real? At Clarkson, we fight for workers who've been shorted by employers who know exactly what they're doing. This isn't an entry-level intake role, and it isn't general intake. We need someone who has already logged real hours in wage and hour work, who can separate a strong unpaid wages case...

  • Conduct in-depth intake interviews with prospective clients to identify and document potential wage and hour violations, including unpaid overtime, off-the-clock work, meal and rest break violations, misclassification (exempt/non-exempt and employee/independent contractor), unpaid wages, rounding practices, and failure to reimburse business expenses
  • Ask targeted, claim-specific follow-up questions that surface facts a less experienced intake person would miss
  • Assess and flag claim strength indicators based on jurisdiction-specific wage and hour law (primarily California law), for attorney review and final determination
  • Translate a caller's raw, often disorganized account into a clear, structured intake summary attorneys can act on immediately
  • Identify potential class or collective action fact patterns during initial intake and flag for attorney evaluation
  • Recognize statute of limitations issues and time-sensitive claims in real time
  • Follow the firm's three-attempt contact protocol and C.A.R.E. intake framework on every file
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records in the firm's CRM (Lawmatics) and case management system
  • Flag red flags, inconsistencies, or gaps that need clarification before a case moves forward
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure smooth handoff of qualified leads
  • Prior wage and hour intake experience is required. You should already be fluent in the fact patterns that separate a real claim from a dead end
  • Working knowledge of the California wage and hour laws (FLSA and multi-state experience is a strong plus)
  • Bilingual, Spanish/English, required
  • A sharp ear for detail and the ability to ask the next question, not just the scripted one
  • Strong written communication skills. Your intake notes need to read like they were written by someone who understood the case, not just transcribed it
  • Experience with CRM or case management software (Lawmatics, Clio, or comparable platforms)
  • Able to look for potentially overlapping cases including through the LWDA's PAGA search website (a plus)
  • Full benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401(k) match)
  • Fully remote

If you can hear a real claim taking shape before the caller even knows they have one, we want to talk to you.
